In Haiti, an attempt to pump fatal shots into nation
President close friend body, that of convicted criminal Ronald "Roro" Nelson
By Yves A. Isidor, Wehaitians.com Executive Editor
NASHUA, NH, Jun. 1 - After making a habit of punching,
slapping and leaving partially toothless untold number of his fellow Haitian
compatriots, including those he assumes to be against the
dictatorship-in-the-making of ill-repute President Michel J. Martelly, since the
latter assumed the office of the Haitian presidency in May of last year, an
attempt to fatally terminate the life of
convicted criminal Ronald "Roro" Nelson
in the Port-au-Prince wealthy suburb of Petion Ville Thursday failed after one
of the three armed men who first pretended to be in search of employment
opportunities, in the immediate aftermath of partially penetrating the felon's
(he is still on probation in the state of Massachusetts) residence, was gunned
down by security guards, and the other two arrested - all security officers,
members of the marked for death Mr. Nelson's recently formed private security
firm.

The more than brigand, excitable, if not, too,
"bloviating
ignoramus" (coined by United States conservative intellectual George Will)
Mr. Nelson who now sits on the throne of opulence, wealth and power, as hundreds
of thousands of his fellow Haitian brothers and sisters continue to sleep rough
with sky their only cover, endure the indignities of crushing poverty,
apparently suffers from a psychological condition that is known as "folie
de grandeur" or delusions of grandeur. It certainly has psychological
manifestations. "The
news media news media," he said late this week, "is trying to vilify
me the same way it made vicious and defamatory statements about former President
Jean-Bertrand Aristide, the same manner it maligned the Haitian army."
And what other way to understand Mr. Nelson's dangerous behavior? Since no
judges, no duly elected officials and appointed public servants, especially those
in position of command, and a significant number of politicians have yet to
loudly say a big "NO" to his comportment of dictatorial nature, at
least to force him into reverse, their unexplained silence continues to
suscitate hostility from bodies of voters, it sure gives
Haiti's constituencies a feel that nothing has changed for the better, except that
citizens comprising of the constituencies of the same have once again been
betrayed. Sadly, Mr. Nelson's murderous behavior is
impervious to judicial subordination, it is incapable of being affected by
political interference.
