Haiti's Michelle Montas, who since January 2007 has held the
prestigious post of spokesperson for United Secretary-General
Ban Ki-moon, certainly can no longer expect to be compensated
for her hard labor hours in that capacity, effective next month.
Ms. Montas, whose husband, Jean-Leopold Dominique, was gunned
down in the early morning of the very first few days of April of
2000, in the front yard of his Haiti radio station, Radio-Haiti
Inter, Tuesday was replaced by Martin Nesirky, a British
national and former Reuters correspondent
No reason was given by the U.N. for the unexpected departure of
Ms. Montas, whose life was attempted, in troubled Haiti, not
long after the brutal murder of her husband, from the position
of spokesperson. |
