Report: Few Americans Are Homosexual
By R. Cort Kirkwood
A researcher at the UCLA School of Law reports that 9 million American adults, about 3.5 percent of the population, are homosexual, lesbian, or bisexual.
Gary Gates of the school's Williams Institute puts that figure in perspective by noting that 3.5 percent of the population is about the same number of people who live in New Jersey.
But he has also again proved that nowhere near 10 percent of Americans, as professing homosexuals want everyone to believe, practice the Love That Dare Not Speak Its Name. The Williams Institute bills itself as "advancing critical thought in the field of sexual orientation law and public policy."
Major Findings
The major findings of Gates' report are no surprise to anyone familiar with erotopathic behavior.
According to Gates, along with the number of gays amounting to about 3.5 percent of the population, "an estimated 0.3% of adults are transgender."
He noted, as well:
Among adults who identify as LGB, bisexuals comprise a slight majority (1.8% compared to 1.7% who identify as lesbian or gay).
Women are substantially more likely than men to identify as bisexual. Bisexuals comprise more than half of the lesbian and bisexual population among women in eight of the nine surveys considered in the brief. Conversely, gay men comprise substantially more than half of gay and bisexual men in seven of the nine surveys.
The survey also notes that comparatively few Americans, fewer than 5 percent, have ever had a homosexual experience.
Estimates of those who report any lifetime same-sex sexual behavior and any same-sex sexual attraction are substantially higher than estimates of those who identify as LGB. An estimated 19 million Americans (8.2%) report that they have engaged in same-sex sexual behavior and nearly 25.6 million Americans (11%) acknowledge at least some same-sex sexual attraction.
Gates' report belies the ballyhooed myth of 10 percent, which was pulled from the studies of "sexologist" Alfred Kinsey, the sex pervert and child molester who published famous studies in the 1940s purporting to document the sex lives of average Americans.
In 1993, leftist Newsweek magazine confessed that recent studies had placed "gays and lesbians" at somewhere between 1 and 6 percent of the population, while a study by Planned Parenthood and the Guttmacher Institute published figures that were nearly the same.
The Traditional Values Coalition, quoting the latter study, reported that "[o]nly 2.3% of males ages 20 to 39 said they had experienced a same-sex relationship in the past decade. Only 1.1% said they were exclusively gay." And a survey in 1989 "indicated that no more than 6% of adults had any kind of same-sex experience. Less than 1% said they were exclusively gay."
The 2.3 percent figure seems fairly consistent. In September 2005, the Centers for Disease Control published that figure after it conducted a self-reporting survey. According to its vital statistics data from that study:
In response to a question that asked, ‘‘Do you think of yourself as heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, or something else? ’’90 percent of men 18–44 years of age responded that they think of themselves as heterosexual. About 2.3 percent of men answered homosexual, 1.8 percent bisexual, 3.9 percent ‘‘something else.’’
Numbers Matter
Homosexuals have long bandied about the 10-percent figure, which Kinsey published after interviewing sex criminals in prison. Despite its obvious falsity, it serves the interest of politically organized buggery, the Traditional Values Coalition notes:
The truth is that homosexuals used the bogus 10% figure in order to inflate their numbers and their influence. The 10% Urban Legend has been effectively used by homosexuals to recruit children into the homosexual lifestyle and to lobby for legislation to provide special legal protections for homosexuals. Homosexual groups throughout the United States, however, continue to use this bogus 10% figure because it provides them with political power and legitimacy.
In other words, the more homosexuals Americans believe are around them, the more likely they will be to accept their radical demands to gain access to children and other places where they can peddle their propaganda.
As for the study from the Williams Institute, one of the last paragraphs puts exactly that kind of gloss on the figures:
By way of comparison, these analyses suggest that the size of the LGBT community is roughly equivalent to the population of New Jersey. The number of adults who have had same-sex sexual experiences is approximately equal to the population of Florida while those who have some same-sex attraction comprise more individuals than the population of Texas.
The Washington Post, in its story about the Williams survey, quoted homosexual activists, who explained the importance of the numbers game. “The number matters,” one said. “An unfortunate part of our political system is that you don’t really count unless you’re counted. LGBT [Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender] Americans still are not routinely counted. That allows legislators and policymakers to say they really don’t matter much, because if they did, we’d have this data.”
