Coast Guard interdicts, immediately thereafter repatriates more
than 200 Haitian migrants |
MIAMI (AP) - The Coast Guard intercepted a boat overloaded with more than 200 migrants
from Haiti and has sent the group back to the country.
The Coast Guard intercepted the 40-foot boat on Friday about 30 miles south of the
Bahamas. Twenty-5 of the migrants refused to disembark, and they were allowed to beach the
ship on the beach of a Haitian island. The remaining 202 migrants were sent back to
Port-au-Prince yesterday.
