NASHUA, NH, Oct. 30 - As you are entering Everett, a nearby north of Boston small city, you do not have to be an economic minded researcher, for example, to easily form an opinion, in fact, also in the negative terms. The examples, those also concerned with its economy, are familiar to nearly every average citizen. They are described below, and should be enough to convince you.

The quasi-sleepy city of Everett, where odious crimes rarely attract the attention of outsiders, is very working class, as they say in the vernacular; in July 2008, its median household income was 52,281 (it was $65,401 for the state of Massachusetts); its estimated median house or condominium value during the same year was $309,974 (it was $353,600 for the state of which it is still a small geographical part of). 

This is not the worst of the city of Everett, which is part of a structure of economic dependence between governments at the state of Massachusetts level, the federal government level. Unlike wealthy Cambridge, roughly six miles south, it does not have a technology square and major hotels; nor does it have fancy boutiques and cafes.

All of the city of Everett's estimated modest wealth (dependent variables), though scarce self-generating public finances may, too, be, and reduced state financial aid significantly insufficient, thanks largely to its exceptionally close proximity with the city of Boston, where you also find a plethora of highly rated universities, a multitude of world class hospitals.

Everett is a city of 38,303 inhabitants. Not much occurs there on a daily basis, except for a large number of residents who repeatedly visit the many discount stores you also find in other average communities when they do not have to voyage to Boston to work. It is in this impoverished city where Haitian presidential candidate, Yves Christalin, proudly told Le Nouvelliste, a respected Haitian publication (in an October 29, 2010 news article; in the language of Voltaire, French), that the sum of $500,000 were raised during a fundraising gala in his honor on October 9, 2010 - not bad at all. Faster than the organizers of the even of the same name and nature could raise, even a far inferior sum of money, for United States' President, Barack Hussein Obama.

Many Haitian-Americans who reside in the city of Everett and other Boston area communities certainly were not aware of the said grand event, where the former ineffective Social Affairs Cabinet Minister in the outgoing government of retrograde dictator, extreme violence-issued President Rene Preval said money was plentiful - in fact, in less than two short hours. 

"Not even serious, mainstream American politicians, at the local level, at the state of Massachusetts level," Haitian-Americans interviewed for this news article convincingly said, "are capable of raising such a large sum of money, particularly in a poor community, even in just a few days."    

The Haitian-Americans sure have a point. Not only making political or charitable donations are not in the tradition of people who are of Haitian heritage, perhaps because of their culture of poverty, the always non-extravagant quality of life of the working class community of people who happen to be of Haitian parentage or Haitian decent in Everett has, unfortunately, long gone downward. In increasing numbers, they (the vast majority of them, not professionals) continue to suffer from the unwanted indignities of unemployment, the penury it has inflicted. This, in fact, since the unprecedented economic downturn (not before the 1929 great depression) in the United States.

It is the convincing opinions of many Wehaitians.com had talked to for this article that Mr. Cristalin is either a drug dealer, drug lord, or a person who practizes grand-scale corruption; In an effort to launder his ill-gotten wealth, he told Le Nouvelliste that $500,000 were raised to help him pay for the economic cost of his clearly going-no-where presidential ambitions.

To borrow some of longtime Boston's prominent radio (listen to www.wntn.com) personality and musician Serge Claude Valmé's lyrics, Men Mwen (here I am), today drug dealers, crooks and many others of the same nature no longer wait for the wee hours of the night, in the comfort of their basements, to attempt to justify their largely questionable wealth. They are at ease of doing so, not only in broad daylight, but also by way of a publication or publications. Men nou machans drugs (here we are drug lords), men nou volès (here we are thieves), men mwen Critalin soidisan volè (here I am alleged thief Cristalin).
