In Haiti, where bandits say even a residual
sense of civility must not be the norm, on
Saturday, July 3, 2010 Jean Charles Ernst, 35,
was gunned down, in broad daylight, and, yes,
too, in the presence of many, only minutes after
he departed the Port-au-Prince's only airport,
Toussaint L'Ouverture, where he picked-up close
family members, who minutes before arrived by
way of an American Airliner flight from New
York. The automobile the victim was conducting
subsequently hit the principal gate of the
Venezuelan Embassy. Mr. Ernst's family members
were slightly injured, and police ultimately
captured the bandits, who witnesses said were
circulating on motorcycles. (Photo/Watson
