• 10-27-2010 --- In an October 26, news article, Haiti's former Prime Minister Alexis, now a presidential candidate, eluded an assassination attempt, we reported that Mr. Alexis was present where an attack took place late Wednesday in a dirt-poor neighborhood of Haiti's western city of Gonaives. We certainly erred, and involuntarily so; he was not there.  But one of the few unfortunate things that did happen, as we reported before, at least one person lost his life after alleged bandits opened fire on a bus carrying also other victims.
